However, unlike a regular closer device, the Door Butler® lets you close the door while the tab is still engaged on the closer rod. By engaging the tab then closing the door, low energy is created and stored inside the spring assembly. The Door Butler® will open and hold doors up to approx. 85 degrees. To close the door under normal usage, simply push or pull the door back to the closed position. The clip plate offers a 6-screw attachment onto the doorjamb, while still allowing the jamb bracket to be easily removed for widening the doorway when moving furniture and appliances. The Door Butler® can be attached directly over worn screw holes from a previous door closer! No need to fill any old stripped screw holes! The clip plate requires a minimal doorjamb width: only 2.25" wide! |

The spring assembly can be bypassed and easily locked to allow the door operator to function as a normal closer device, such as when requiring the door to be firmly held open without any movement.
Also, the time spent waiting for the door to close has been reduced. This resolves the need to hurriedly force the door closed, such as for locking the door when leaving the house.

Door Butler® can be installed onto most any out-swing storm or screen door type, at any location: top, middle, or bottom mount. For people using mobility devices and elderly, we recommend installing it just below the lock set using the support bar. Placing Door Butler® in a mid-location creates easier access for changing it's settings, and is better for door balance.
